Thursday was our last full day on Kauai. We had a lazy start to the day, then we headed down to the beach. Our frisbee’s helped protect our sand buildings from small waves.
Aunty Cait took me out into the ocean past the waves. I was super scared but I had fun. Later we all went out there with some floating toys and an adult for each of us.
Autumn and Grandpa went to the pool, but Auntie Cait, Ryland, Mom and I headed back to the snow cone place. This time Mom remembered to take a picture of her rootbeer float snow cone before she ate it!
When we got back to the hotel it was time to go and make a real flower lei.
First we had to take the stems off the flowers.
We had huge needles that we had to poke through the orchid and slide down on the string (which was dental floss!)
Finished products!
After some rest for Autumn and pool time for me we went to the Poipu shopping center to watch some Tahitian dancers. We got to go on stage and learn some moves and take a picture after they were done. You should see how fast their hips move!
Then we went and had dinner at Roy’s! Yummy!
Friday meant we were leaving Kauai, but heading to Maui. We did some exploring of the hotel before we went to dinner at Coconut Fish Cafe. They have yummy fish taco’s that the adults wanted to eat.
This was the beach in front of the hotel.
The kids were checking out the fountain in the lobby.
Autumn was being silly and squishing Mom.
After we got back from dinner we stopped at the lawn where they had some games you could play.
What are those Uncle Jeffrey?
We didn’t know how to play this, but it was fun to throw the balls at the stand!
Autumn spun hers around.
Then we had some gelato, then headed down towards the path to go frog hunting. It was a little early so we stopped and played at the water’s edge for a bit. Mom stopped for a sunset picture.
Group picture!
Mom thought it’d be funny if we kissed Autumn. You can tell how happy she was about that!
She tried to catch our glow wands “glowing”. Kinda worked.
Uncle Jeffrey got a couple good ones!
A couple of years ago Auntie Pony told us that if you walk around at night the frogs hang out all over. We are either coming at the wrong time of year, or we go out to early because we have to work really hard to see them. Autumn and Mom had a huge scare while they were walking back. I big bird flew at them, hit the wall, and scurried into the bushes. It made Autumn cry, and Mom said it scared her too!
