Day 2

We  started the morning at Kihei Cafe.  Grandpa had fried rice loco moco

Autumn had a honu pancake

I had EBT (eggs, bacon, and toast).  But I ate mom’s french toast, Grandma’s corned beef and hash, and some loco moco too!

Mom took us to the hotel because there wasn’t enough room in the car.  It was ok, though because Grandpa, or GP, as we have nicknamed him took us to the pool and beach!

Mom, Grandma, and Diane went off to run errands.  Apparently that included the Home Made bakery where they got crispy manju, mocha, and fresh warm malasada’s.

Then they headed to the airport to pick up Manu and Paige.  They flew over from Oahu to visit with us.  Down at the beach the ocean was really rough but we were having a ton of fun.  It wasn’t until the waves started to be so strong our bottoms were falling off that we came out.

We stopped in our “dipping pool” to rinse off and just because we had one.

These are some pictures of our villa.  Kevin was relaxing and Allie was checking out the bathroom.

It’s hard to get enough of the pools and beach so we all headed back to the pool for awhile.  Autumn and Ry were looking for coins through the window in their blow up mattresses.

Cheers!  A littler refreshment at night.

IMG_8863

Manu and Paige made Ramen for dinner.  We had toppings for our noodles and edamame too!

IMG_8864 IMG_8866

Yummy!

IMG_8867

It’s finally vacation!

IMG_8830

We got to Maui and Autumn wanted to head straight to the beach.  Once we got settled into the room we went downstairs to the beach with Grandpa.

After the beach we headed to the pool for awhile and then upstairs to shower and eat dinner.  The only problem was it was only 2:30!  It felt like it should be dinner time since we were up at 4:30am.  We met up with the boys and had dinner.

Mom and Daine shared this deep fried spam musubi.

After they came back to our hotel to play at the beach.  Tomorrow, we are going to move to their hotel, they just didn’t have a room for tonight.

Wave jumping!

And wave falling.

IMG_1533

Bryce even got into it.  He would play in the water and then take a break and play in the sand.

IMG_1537 IMG_1540

More water fun for us.

IMG_1541 IMG_1542 IMG_1543

Grandma watched from the grass and Diane sat on the balcony.

Smile!

“Kalina why are you just sitting there?  Watch out for the waves!”

The one of many sand-in-the-hair tumbles in the water, and she comes up smiling.

IMG_1554

If you were us with this clod of sand, what would you do?

IMG_1557

A boy and his bucket! (there’s no picture of him going towards mommy to get her wet with his bucket!)

Autumn is trying something new this spring.  She joined the Storm recreational soccer program and is playing with other girls from school.  She is playing with first graders and having lots of fun.  The trick is Colorado soccer in the spring means snow cancellations.  They’ve only had 2 practices in 5 weeks!  This weekend was their first game and first make-up game.

Just a little pre-game warm-up.

Run, Autumn, run
