Saturday night Kalina and Grandpa went to take a walk. They explored the hotel and went down to the beach. When they came back, their shoes were like this!
We headed to the beach Sunday morning. The waves were a little rougher than the day before. I rode the turtle again, but this time, on the ride in I got TOSSED! I had so much sand everywhere the shower couldn’t get it off. Mom took me to the pool and we worked to rinse it out of my pigtails for awhile! Later we headed back to the pool and found the water slide.
You should hold your breath at the bottom!
Here goes Autumn!
Baby Bryce came for a dip to cool off.
We had quiet time in the room and then headed downstairs to explore. Check out the giant fish we found!
Aghhhh, it’s eating Autumn’s head!
My turn!
Mom took a picture of a couple flowers. Boring!
Contemplating life.
We were headed over to Poipu for dinner at Savage Shrimp. The Bobsey twins were ready to go!
We saw a rainbow while we ate dinner.
I think the best part was going for shaved ice after! We ate at Uncle’s Shave Ice. Mom tried shaved snow. That’s where they mixed sugar, milk, and flavor with the water and froze it. Then they shaved that chunk of ice. She says it was super yummy!
I had lemon, cherry, and banana.
Autumn was not so much a fan of shaved ice. She said it made her teeth cold and was crunchy.
Ry loved his!
Mom let Autumn have an ice cream instead. She tried shaved ice and that’s an important thing for Autumn. Trying things!
Back to the car to go home.
Monday we went back to the beach hut for breakfast. Autumn was up at 5am but they don’t open until 7. On the way we saw this rainbow.
After, we stopped at the beach for a quick hello to the ocean and a Facetime chat with Kameron. Mom snapped a pic of sister time.
There was a hula class at the hotel today that I wanted to do. I learned some hula dances and had fun.
We found a few elephants to ride.
Then we had some fruit for a snack.
I put my glasses on my head like Mom. It gave me crazy hair!
Autumn finally sat nice for a picture!
We stayed out of the sun today to let our sunburns heal a little. Instead we took a car ride to Hanapepe to the Kauai Kookie company. The we went to the Swinging Bridge. It’s a bridge that swings a little. Autumn didn’t really like it very much. She held on.
Mom tried to take a picture of us. Autumn wouldn’t smile.
This smile cost Mom a quarter. For a quarter, Autumn smiled!
Grandma stayed at the beginning of the bridge.
Here’s the view off one side of the bridge.
Here’s another view on the bridge.
We headed back towards the hotel and had a plate lunch. Mom said we could have a treat since we ate a good lunch.
We spent some time playing in the room and then headed to the pool for a little while. Then we went back to the room because Bryce and Ry were coming to our room for dinner. Auntie Cait and Jeff went to a nice dinner.
Play time and then bed time. I wonder what adventures tomorrow will bring.
