Thursday morning we headed up the west coast of Oahu to have breakfast at Countryside Cafe. Mom got a triple plate with strawberry waffle, lillikoi pancake, and banana foster french toast. She said it was yummy. I had another loco moco. I think this is going to be a new dinner option when we go home. After breakfast Allie and Kevin headed to airport to go home and we headed further up the coast. We stopped and played at a beach, but we didn’t have swim suits so we could only run from the waves.
Then went to the North shore. We stopped at a surf shop and saw Ku and then we went to the beach right across from Manu, Paige, and Ku’s house. Mom says it’s where they filmed Baywatch Hawaii. (whatever that is)
After the beach we headed back to meet Manu and Paige for ramen dinner. Mom had a tonkatsu ramen!
Friday was out last day on Oahu. We went to the lotion store, Ani’s bakery, chip store one more time, Wholesale Unlimited Express and then had lunch at Zippy’s. They are fast food places that are all over Hawaii. We dropped Grandma and Grandpa off at the airport because their flight was earlier than ours. Then we headed up Pali highway to the lookout. Apparently it can be very windy but it wasn’t to bad when we were there.
This is the view of Kaneohe Bay.
It was very cloudy in the mountain area.
Mom took a picture of this tree because the trunk was so interesting to look at.
After Pali lookout we were headed to ice cream, but we didn’t go back down the Pali Highway because Mom turned the wrong way. It ended up being a good thing because traffic was much lighter. Our directions were taking us to Menchies but we ended up at the Hickam military base. Apparently you need a military ID to go to Menchies, so we ended up at B&R. Then we headed to the airport to take our flight to Kauai.
This morning we went to the King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade. Each island was represented with a Princess and her court.
Pa’u Queen
Fancy pooper scooper!
Mom took this picture because the little fish on the side were actually made from birds of paradise flowers.
This is the princess representing Niihau. She stopped to let Mom take a picture.
We walked around the festival and then went to late lunch at Tip Top Cafe. After, Mom dropped us off at the hotel to got to the pool and beach with Grandpa. They were going to Safeway, but they were gone for a REALLY long time. Apparently, they decided to go to the Kauai Kookie store in Hanapepe, but it was closed.
