It was a great day to go to the pumpkin patch!  It was super sunny and really warm.  We’ve been to this patch before but not since 2013.  This year Grandma and Grandpa went because they were watching Ry and Bryce.  We started on the slides.

IMG_1194

Bryce wanted to go on them too.  His first ride was by himself, then he went with Autumn.

IMG_1195 IMG_1196 IMG_1197

Ropin’ cows-Yeehaw!  Autumn actually got the rope on her cows head!

IMG_1203 IMG_1204 IMG_1206

We didn’t know how to keep the rope circle big for Ry, but Bryce was cheering for him.

IMG_1208

Ry tried a different rope and roped himself!

IMG_1209

Daddy and I had some serious duck races!

IMG_1217 IMG_1218

Bryce tried to figure out the “sand box”.  He ended up liking the corn box.  The kids did too, they stayed in there a loooooong time.

IMG_1220 IMG_1223

While they played in the corn, I went on a pony ride.

Version 2 IMG_1229

Mommy, Bryce and I went over to the petting zoo area.  I pet a chicken and a duck.  There were also alpacas, goats, sheep, a turkey, and ponies.  Bryce really liked the “neigh-neigh’s” as long as they stayed on the other side of the pen from him.

Grandma found some shade

IMG_1238

Grandpa and Bryce went to check out the mini houses.

IMG_1239

Then they went on a “go-go” ride with Mom.  (go-go’s are anything with wheels)

IMG_1240 IMG_1242

One of the “wildlife” while on the hayride.

IMG_1243

Grandpa and Bryce were checking out the tractors.

IMG_1245 IMG_1246

Ry tried out milking a cow.

IMG_1248 IMG_1249

Bryce and Grandpa tried for “strawberry milk”.

IMG_1251

Autumn and I got our faces painted.

IMG_1253 IMG_1254

Haystack mountains are made for climbing.

IMG_1256 IMG_1257 IMG_1258 IMG_1260

Ry and Autumn duck raced the ducks to each other instead of against each other.

IMG_1262 IMG_1263 IMG_1264

Dad and I off to check out something else.

IMG_1265

Tire running!  Dad could do it, but my legs were to short.  I just walked on top.

IMG_1266

Back to the slides!

IMG_1269

Here they goooooooooo!

IMG_1271 IMG_1272 IMG_1274 IMG_1276

They liked that so much, they went a few more times together.

IMG_1278 IMG_1280 IMG_1281

Want to see how much the kids have grown?  This was from 2013.

IMG_8227

Mom took pictures of me by myself.

IMG_1283 IMG_1284

The failed attempt at Ry and I going together.

IMG_1288 IMG_1289

Bryce do you have corn in there?

IMG_1294

Checking out how tall we are.

IMG_1295 IMG_1296 IMG_1297

Pumpkin time!  Bryce kept changing his mind on which one he wanted.

IMG_1299

It’s a pumpkin mine field!

IMG_1301 IMG_1302

We found ours!

IMG_1303

Say cheese!

IMG_1304 IMG_1307 IMG_1309

Bye-bye pumpkin patch!

IMG_1316

The reason we came to California this weekend was to dance in Obon.  We got dressed up in kimono’s, Allie put makeup on us, and we got fancy clips in our hair.

Autumn being Autumn!

IMG_0927 IMG_0928

This year I wore a red kimono.  It was the same one I wore a couple years ago.

IMG_0930 IMG_0931

Auntie Jane came over to tie us up!  You literally get tied up with wraps to hold everything in place.

IMG_0936 IMG_0937

This was the obi that Autumn wore.

IMG_0938

Next came her hair clip and makeup.

IMG_0939 IMG_0943

IMG_0947 IMG_0956

Then is was my turn.

IMG_0941   IMG_0952 IMG_0954 IMG_0968

This was my fancy hair piece.

IMG_0974 IMG_0975 IMG_0976 IMG_0979

Autumn and her poses!

IMG_0960 IMG_0962 IMG_0966 IMG_0967 IMG_1006

I go for the more serious face.

IMG_0981 IMG_0985 IMG_0986 IMG_1001 IMG_1004

Sisters!

IMG_0993 IMG_0998 IMG_1003 IMG_6904

Obon starts with the taiko performance.  That was pretty cool to watch.

IMG_1008 IMG_6907

Finally the dancing started!  We used the uchiwa (round fan)

IMG_1014 IMG_1015

Autumn was resting and Mommy took a picture of her eye lashes.

IMG_6911

This is our cousin Emmet.

IMG_1018 IMG_1019

Kachi kachi’s were another dance.  They click together.

IMG_1021 IMG_1024 IMG_1025 IMG_1026 IMG_1027

Emmet and trying to get Allie to dance.

IMG_1030

This is Emmet and his Mommy.

IMG_1033 IMG_1035 IMG_1036 IMG_1037

Who tied that towel on his head?

IMG_1039 IMG_1040

This was a hand dance.  There was one dance were Autumn’s favorite part was shaking her bootie!

IMG_1048 IMG_1050 IMG_1051

Another kachi kachi dance.  They are fun because of all the noises.

IMG_1054 IMG_1056 IMG_1057 IMG_1058

This one was the sensu. (folding fan) It was tricky because you have to spin the fan around!

IMG_1061 IMG_1064 IMG_1069

At obon the last 2 dances are even ones that Diane and Grandma will do!

IMG_6908 IMG_6909

After we dance we get to have a hot dog and treats.

IMG_6910

We came out to California for a few days before school starts.  When we got in we went to Diane’s house to see Howard and Jerry.  We played some “soccer” with Howard.  Except we kept having to take breaks after a few minutes!

IMG_0846 (1)   IMG_0847  IMG_0848  IMG_0849

Howard got into his “stance” and we tried to move him.  We usually won.

 IMG_6875

Grandma made Mommy’s favorite dinner.  Sukiyaki.  Autumn even tried kamaboko-and she liked it!

IMG_6876 (1)

When we got back to Grandma’s house Allie came over.  We went to B & R and got dessert.  Can you guess what Autumn had?

IMG_6877

On Thursday we played in the morning.  This was our “hike” with Grandpa.

IMG_0852 (1)

Then we went to have lunch with Allie at her work.  While we waited for her to come get us we drooled over the candy dish in the lobby!

IMG_6881 (1)

It was national root beer float day, so we went to the coffee shop downstairs after lunch and got a root beer float.  Look at these ginormous chairs they have!

IMG_6884 (1)

One pic in the “in” sign.

IMG_6889 (1)

We went to the swimsuit store to see what they had and when we got home, Diane was there.  Autumn had an assignment from Alicia to give Diane a hug, even if she didn’t want one.  This was our proof.

IMG_6891 (1)

Later we went to dinner at La Fondue.  It’s like the Melting Pot at home, but Mom says this place is better!  We think chocolate tastes yummy wherever you have it.

IMG_6892 (1) IMG_6893 (1)

Friday mom rented a car for all of us to go to the aquarium.  We had 4 lattes, 3 hot chocolates, and 7 pastries and then we were ready to hit the road.

IMG_6894 (1)

Monterey wasn’t to far away.

IMG_0856

Why do we have to stand by this sign?

IMG_0860

This lady had baby moon jellies in a jar when we walked in.

IMG_0861 IMG_0863

Mom told us to go and check out this exhibit.  We didn’t know it but a wave comes crashing over you.  It scared us at first!

IMG_0865 IMG_0866 IMG_0868

These are the touch pool areas.

IMG_0870 IMG_0871 IMG_0873

We went outside to see what was going on and Mom told us to go and sit in here with Allie.

IMG_0878

Guess this is why.  This was from September of 2011!

L1000452

Check out the anchovies swimming in circles!

IMG_0879

More touch areas upstairs.  We touched a sea star, and I was brave enough to touch a crab!

IMG_0880 IMG_0881 IMG_0882 IMG_0884

Allie showed us how to make a bookmark.

IMG_0886

There was a coral reef area and I wanted mom to take a picture of these fish.

IMG_0887 IMG_0889

Autumn wanted a picture with this sea star too.

IMG_0894

Then we headed over to the open ocean exhibit and all the jelly fish.

IMG_0896 IMG_0899 IMG_0905

Look carefully.  These are Kalina and Autumn jelly fish!

IMG_0900 IMG_0901

This was a place where you draw your own jelly fish and then it swims across the screen.  This one was Autumn’s.

IMG_0907

Here’s mine.

IMG_0908 IMG_0909

Autumn and grandpa were sitting on a jelly fish stool.

IMG_0912

This was a real jelly fish that glows in the dark!

IMG_0914

Ahhhhh!  We’re trapped in jelly fish tentacles!

IMG_0915

These guys were in the tentacles exhibit.

IMG_0916 IMG_0917

And here are the cute sea otters.  There was food in the little balls.

IMG_0918 IMG_0920

We headed down to greet the Pacific ocean.  It was definitely colder than Bermuda!

IMG_0923

Grandma gave us quarters to check out the spyglasses.

IMG_6895 IMG_6896

Lunch was fine, but Dippin’ dots were better!
