Tiny Town

Yesterday we went to Tiny Town to see what it’s all about.  Guess what!  It’s a place that is like a tiny town!  There are all kinds of little buildings to look at and a train you can ride.

These were on the side of the mountain so you could only see them from far away.

Here’s some we could touch.

There were a few that you could go inside.  We were in the windmill here.

Can you see me in the window?

They even had some tiny benches for us to sit on!

Look, even Daddy can fit on a tiny bench.

Here’s the tiny bench Autumn found by the snack place.

I wanted to sit inside at the big girl table all by myself.

Wanna see the train?  We watched it first and REALLY didn’t like how noisy the whistle was!

Our turn to ride!

There was even a playground to play on.

Mom says to tell you that she did not make me wear my sweatshirt.  I wanted to, even though it was hot!

Last Friday we met Grandma and Doug at the Denver County Fair.  We got to ride some rides, pet some animals, have an ice cream, and see people in giant plastic balls try to stand on water. First we rode the boats, then the ladybugs, and I rode the dragon but Autumn was to small so she rode the boats again.

We were a little thirsty so Dad bought a small lemonade for us to share.

Saturday Dad played golf with the boys so we went to Grandma’s to go swimming.  Sunday we went and had breakfast at the Original Pancake House.  Mom got to have her 49er Flapjacks and Dad got sourdough pancakes.  Then we loaded up in the car and headed up to Estes Park.  Don’t let the name fool you.  It really isn’t a park to play at.  It’s a town near a forest. Our first stop was a place called Fun City.  Right by where the car was parked was a river.  We had to check it out and teach Autumn that not all water is the ocean.

They had a giant slide to go on.  You just had to sit on a carpet and zoom, off you go.  I went first with Dad.

See how big it is!

At this point Mom wasn’t to sure I was coming down.  But really, we were just waiting for the man to put our carpet down.

Here we come!

Next it was Autumn’s turn with Daddy.

She doesn’t look very happy huh?!  She must’ve had fun though because we went one more time after this.  My second ride was faster because when Daddy went with me his shoes weren’t on the carpet. I wanted to ride the bumper cars next, but Daddy saw a little girl crying on the ride with her mom and thought we should check out some other things.  We went to see how the bumper boats were but Mom nixed that because we didn’t have swim suits and you get really wet.  Instead we decided on the go karts.  I drove with Mom and Autumn drove with Dad.  At first I didn’t like how bumpy it was so Mom had to go slow.  Daddy passed us so he says he won, but we went faster after I got used to it!  When we were leaving we saw a man fly fishing in the river.

Next we went to get some lunch but no one was hungry and we were right next to a trout farm.  We went there to check it out instead.

Here’s the bucket for our fish.  (the man at the place said people weren’t really catching anything but Mom and Dad wanted to let us try)

Here’s the “worms”.  They were really mealworms though!  I handed Dad 1 when he needed it, but it wiggled and scared me, so I dropped it!

Let’s do this fishing stuff!

After a while we moved to a new spot.  Autumn got hungry and decided to have some goldfish while she was fishing for trout fish.

Autumn gave Dad a worm too!  On her second try it wiggled and she dropped hers too!

By now we were done fishing.  Mom and Dad were taking turns trying to catch a fish.  I think they really wanted to catch one because there were SOOOOOOOOOOO many swimming right in front of us.  You could see them everywhere!  Dad caught one, but when it got close to shore it got away.

Look what MOM caught!  (Uncle Howard-Mom said to tell you that they couldn’t get the hook out and she didn’t stand on this one!)

This was the fish after the man cut off it’s head and cleaned it.  We didn’t see that part, it’s just what mom said.

Hmmmm…I wonder what happened to that fish?  I know Dad was carrying it, but I don’t remember seeing it at our house.  After fishing we went into town and walked around.  I have never seen so many ice cream shops in one place!  We found one that wasn’t to busy and got a treat.  Dad had a cookies and cream malt that he said was really yummy.  We walked around the town and I took a nap and then we headed home.  Mom and Dad are trying to decide what our next adventure will be!

Before we flew home from Hawaii we stopped in CA to go to our cousin Mark’s wedding.  He and Yen got married at the Fairmont in San Francisco.  It was a beautiful day.  We ran around outside before the wedding started.

This is Mark and Yen listening to a poem being read during the ceremony.

This was part of the decorations.

After the ceremony we went back outside.

Ryland, look right here!

Grandpa, are you sharing SODA with us?!

For favors Mark and Yen had cupcakes for everyone.  I ate mine before lunch!

This is my cousin Savanah.  She lives in San Deigo and I haven’t seen here since she was really little!

After the wedding we went back to Diane’s house.  We got to have ice cream in a cone.  Did I mention that Pony and Diane gave us our first cones?
