This morning we headed down to Highlands Ranch to meet Ryland for an Easter egg hunt at the park.  This hunt had a section for 1-3 year olds, but I snuck in with the little kids.  The rules were that we could get 6 eggs each.  There was a big area with eggs all over the ground-but we had to wait patiently until the lady said go.

Autumn was being a little grouchy at first.  She wouldn’t take a picture or smile.

Finally, a smile!

Ryland finally made it!  We were waiting for him.

Mom said that Ryland is an honorary Doyle.  If you look close his zipper is down.  It’s easier for him to go potty that way, and in the Doyle family-dad leaves his zipper down all the time!

Finally, time to start!

Showin’ off our bounty.

Now it’s time to check out these eggs.

Autumn got a little camera

Check out all this stuff.

A Starburst-yum!

After our egg hunt we headed to a French bakery for breakfast.  They had lots of yummy food-you’ll have to try a treat from there if you come to visit!

Today we headed up to Copper Mountain so that I could have another chance at skiing.  Today my teacher was Ben, but he said to call him “animal”!  We chose this mountain because there was a place called Critterland for Autumn to play at while I skied.  There aren’t any pictures of Autumn playing because Mom had the camera and she was with me.  (Dad’s camera is still in the shop.)  Autumn tubed on the little hill, rode the tube carousel. played on the structure, and went in the snow tunnels!

This lesson started with a ride to the magic carpet area.

This place had a magic carpet to ride on.  It only took me a little while to remember how to walk in my skis.

Once we got to the top, Ben would go down backwards and catch me.  At first I had an edgie-wedgie on the tips of my skis.  This helped me make a pizza, but I couldn’t move my skis very well so Ben took it off.

See me do it myself.

Another run-hands in front so I don’t lean back and fall

Some more pizza practice-it’s really hard for me to make a pizza with my skis.

Sometimes I wanted Ben to go first.

Sometimes, I went first.

Look at how much fun I’m having.

Whoa-leaning to far back!

Towards the end I got to be animals while I skied down.  I liked being a penguin (flapping my arms) and a dolphin (round circles with my arms).

Ben was really good at catching me as I flew down the hill!

This was our last run together.  I was being a torpedo, so I had to put my hand up by my helmet.

After my lesson was finished Mom rode up the carpet with me and caught me as a flew down.  Later Dad and Autumn came over and Dad caught me a few times, but by then my legs were so tired I wasn’t smiling when i was skiing.  Even though I was tired and hungry, I still wanted to do more, but Mom and Dad said we had to stop.  We had a snack before heading home.  When Mom took me to the bathroom she left her phone there and now it’s gone.  Other than that, it was a really good day!

The weather has warmed up to the 70’s (for now anyways) and the we are taking advantage of the sun to ride our bikes outside instead of in the basement.  Autumn is learning to pedal and we are both learning that a little slope can make make you roll faster than you want!

Can you guess what’s going to happen next?
