Day 4

Today was our last day with Manu and Paige.  Allie and Mom tried to get them some peanut butter mochi but they only had 2 left.  We all met up at the pool to hang out.  The turtle came out to play too.

It was tough to try and get 4 of us on the turtle for a picture.  Maybe uncle Jeffrey got a better one.  Autumn and I took a break from the pool to go make a bracelet.  Thank you Howard for the spending money to make them.

Paige and Allie shared their smoothie with Bryce.  He really liked it!

IMG_8894

We headed back to the dipping pool for awhile.

Paige wanted a ride on the turtle.  (Secretly, she wanted to be on the wall at Grandma’s house with the kids on the turtle.)  She was having some trouble though.

IMG_8913

Yay!  She made it!

IMG_8914

They had to go to the airport soon and we had reservations at the Old Lahaina Luau.

We all got flower lei’s and a fruit drink.  Kevin’s had other stuff in it to, and we weren’t allowed to have his.

IMG_1610

Mommy, don’t take a picture after I shove a whole piece of pineapple in my mouth!

IMG_1612

Learning about the instruments.

IMG_1613 IMG_1619 IMG_1620 IMG_1626

And how they decorated cloth.

IMG_1621

And how they made pounded taro root for a dessert.

IMG_1622 IMG_1624

The pig is under this pile.  It’s called the imu.

IMG_1625

Can you see the rainbow?

IMG_1627

Bryce smelling the flower!

IMG_1631

We got special drinks too!

IMG_1632

The show was great!  Everyone but Autumn enjoyed watching the dancers perform.  Autumn fell asleep in Kevin’s lap.

Day 3

Today was “let our sunburns diminish day”.  We started at the pool with Grandpa and the turtle.  If you haven’t been following our website for years you don’t know about the turtle.  Every year grandpa packs the turtle and brings it to Hawaii where he originally bought it.  It survived 4 years before it sprung a leak and died last year.  Grandma bought a replacement turtle just for this trip!  We’re breaking in the new one.

Later we headed to the beach but then we got hungry and took a break.  While we played Allie, Kevin, and Paige went out paddle boarding.  Paige was there to help Allie try something new.  Allie doesn’t really like the ocean!

There were getting some instructions from the rental guy.

IMG_1561

Paddle boards are big!

IMG_1562

Off go the girls.

IMG_1563

Kevin had to wait on the beach until the girls were settled.  Ladies first you know.

IMG_1566

Watch out for that wave!

IMG_1567

Paige was up first.

IMG_1568

Here goes Allie.

IMG_1569

Hmmmmmm, Allie is still on her knees.  I wonder if she’s going to sit down paddle today?!

IMG_1571

Bye, bye Kevin!

IMG_1572

Allie is starting to stand up!  Right now she looks like and old lady though.

IMG_1575

Go, Kevin, go.  Catch up with the girls.  Wait!  You’ll paddle better if your paddle isn’t backwards!

IMG_1576 IMG_1577

He’s catching up!

IMG_1578 IMG_1579

After the beach we went and rinsed off in our dipping pool.  Bryce got to try out his floaty toy.

IMG_1580

Look out!  It’s an Autumn fish swimming under you Bryce!

IMG_1582 IMG_1583

We took a break from the sun and went into town to have Guri-Guri.  Did you know that place is closed on Sundays?  Oh well, there was a Baskin and Robbins in the mall so that was fine!  Then we went to Fun Factory and played games for awhile.  Allie played a game where she hit the target and she won the bonus-2000 tickets.  After all our games we each got to pick out prizes.  There were a few stops at grocery stores and stuff and then we went back to the hotel.  While the adults got dinner ready, we went in the dipping pool again and then out to the grass to play.

IMG_1586 IMG_1588

Mom was being lazy and taking pictures from the deck so it’s a little hard to see us.

IMG_1589 (1) IMG_1594

Diane and paige were on the grill.

IMG_1596

Mmmmmmmm, look at their hard work!

IMG_1598 IMG_1599

Bryce is holding up the pole.

IMG_1600

Just some friendly tag.

IMG_1604

Plumeria tree and palm tree.

IMG_1607

Collecting flowers for Grandma.

IMG_1608

Dinner is served.

IMG_8876

After dinner we went to check out what people were doing with flashlights on the beach.  Catching crabs of course!

IMG_8878

Allie wanted to try out Autumn’s “night vision” goggles.

IMG_8881

Kids to bed, lemondrops come out!

IMG_8882 IMG_8883

Day 2

We  started the morning at Kihei Cafe.  Grandpa had fried rice loco moco

IMG_8841

Autumn had a honu pancake

IMG_8842

I had EBT (eggs, bacon, and toast).  But I ate mom’s french toast, Grandma’s corned beef and hash, and some loco moco too!

IMG_8843 IMG_8844

Mom took us to the hotel because there wasn’t enough room in the car.  It was ok, though because Grandpa, or GP, as we have nicknamed him took us to the pool and beach!

Mom, Grandma, and Diane went off to run errands.  Apparently that included the Home Made bakery where they got crispy manju, mocha, and fresh warm malasada’s.

IMG_8846 IMG_8847

Then they headed to the airport to pick up Manu and Paige.  They flew over from Oahu to visit with us.  Down at the beach the ocean was really rough but we were having a ton of fun.  It wasn’t until the waves started to be so strong our bottoms were falling off that we came out.

IMG_8848 IMG_8850

We stopped in our “dipping pool” to rinse off and just because we had one.

IMG_8857

These are some pictures of our villa.  Kevin was relaxing and Allie was checking out the bathroom.

IMG_8858 IMG_8859

It’s hard to get enough of the pools and beach so we all headed back to the pool for awhile.  Autumn and Ry were looking for coins through the window in their blow up mattresses.

IMG_8860

Cheers!  A littler refreshment at night.

IMG_8863

Manu and Paige made Ramen for dinner.  We had toppings for our noodles and edamame too!

IMG_8864 IMG_8866

Yummy!
