Since Mom doesn’t work on Fridays she decided to take us to a special place.  We went and explored the Children’s Museum in Denver.  There are lots of fun things to do there for kids. Since we’re getting bigger Mom isn’t bringing the stroller everywhere, just most places!

Come on Autumn, hold my hand.

The first place we went was the art station to paint.  That was the first time Autumn got to use paints and she really liked it.  It’s ok that she got paint all over her hands!

After we painted we did some coloring.

Next we went to the bubble area.  We got to watch gigantic bubbles get made.  You can even make a bubble that goes around you!  Mom didn’t take any pictures of the bubbles because she was to busy making sure we weren’t making a mess.  After the bubbles we tried to play with trains, but the kids in there weren’t sharing, so we left and went to the grocery area.  We got to push shopping carts, get groceries and pay for them at the pretend area.

After shopping we went to practice being a vet.  We got to take care of the cats and dogs.

Next we went to try and be rocket makers.  I was a giant chicken and didn’t really like the room we were in.  Autumn was having fun launching rockets, but then she got scared because I was.

Mom decided it was time to go, so we went outside and had a snack at the little table.

On the way to the car there was a playground.  We stopped and played for a little bit.  Look at what the plastic slides do to Autumn’s hair.

Time to go home-boy were we tiried!

Tonight we went on a golfing adventure with Mom and Dad.  First we went to a store and Dad bought us a putter and iron each and some golf balls.  I chose yellow balls and Autumn wanted pink.  When Dad brought them out she changed her mind and took the purple ones.  Then we headed out to Colorado Golf Club.  Along with the big golf course there is a par 3 course.  Since we went in the evening, no one was using it and we got to play on it.  Mom says the pictures are a little blurry because we were running all over the place.

The first tee box.

Alright Autumn, let’s go get our balls.

Daddy, help me hit this FAR!

The green

Get your ball out Autumn.

Swwwwiiinnng batter, batter…oh wait, wrong game.

Snack time for Autumn

Daddy got a chance to hit a few balls.

A nice cool drink was perfect after out “round” of golf.

Time to head back to the car.

How’d we do Dad?

The pretty sunset.

As we were driving home we stopped to see Bambi.

I wonder if that was his mom?

Golfing sure is fun.  I hope we get to play some more.  We need to practice how to hold our clubs and hit the ball!

Last Friday we met Grandma and Doug at the Denver County Fair.  We got to ride some rides, pet some animals, have an ice cream, and see people in giant plastic balls try to stand on water. First we rode the boats, then the ladybugs, and I rode the dragon but Autumn was to small so she rode the boats again.

We were a little thirsty so Dad bought a small lemonade for us to share.

Saturday Dad played golf with the boys so we went to Grandma’s to go swimming.  Sunday we went and had breakfast at the Original Pancake House.  Mom got to have her 49er Flapjacks and Dad got sourdough pancakes.  Then we loaded up in the car and headed up to Estes Park.  Don’t let the name fool you.  It really isn’t a park to play at.  It’s a town near a forest. Our first stop was a place called Fun City.  Right by where the car was parked was a river.  We had to check it out and teach Autumn that not all water is the ocean.

They had a giant slide to go on.  You just had to sit on a carpet and zoom, off you go.  I went first with Dad.

See how big it is!

At this point Mom wasn’t to sure I was coming down.  But really, we were just waiting for the man to put our carpet down.

Here we come!

Next it was Autumn’s turn with Daddy.

She doesn’t look very happy huh?!  She must’ve had fun though because we went one more time after this.  My second ride was faster because when Daddy went with me his shoes weren’t on the carpet. I wanted to ride the bumper cars next, but Daddy saw a little girl crying on the ride with her mom and thought we should check out some other things.  We went to see how the bumper boats were but Mom nixed that because we didn’t have swim suits and you get really wet.  Instead we decided on the go karts.  I drove with Mom and Autumn drove with Dad.  At first I didn’t like how bumpy it was so Mom had to go slow.  Daddy passed us so he says he won, but we went faster after I got used to it!  When we were leaving we saw a man fly fishing in the river.

Next we went to get some lunch but no one was hungry and we were right next to a trout farm.  We went there to check it out instead.

Here’s the bucket for our fish.  (the man at the place said people weren’t really catching anything but Mom and Dad wanted to let us try)

Here’s the “worms”.  They were really mealworms though!  I handed Dad 1 when he needed it, but it wiggled and scared me, so I dropped it!

Let’s do this fishing stuff!

After a while we moved to a new spot.  Autumn got hungry and decided to have some goldfish while she was fishing for trout fish.

Autumn gave Dad a worm too!  On her second try it wiggled and she dropped hers too!

By now we were done fishing.  Mom and Dad were taking turns trying to catch a fish.  I think they really wanted to catch one because there were SOOOOOOOOOOO many swimming right in front of us.  You could see them everywhere!  Dad caught one, but when it got close to shore it got away.

Look what MOM caught!  (Uncle Howard-Mom said to tell you that they couldn’t get the hook out and she didn’t stand on this one!)

This was the fish after the man cut off it’s head and cleaned it.  We didn’t see that part, it’s just what mom said.

Hmmmm…I wonder what happened to that fish?  I know Dad was carrying it, but I don’t remember seeing it at our house.  After fishing we went into town and walked around.  I have never seen so many ice cream shops in one place!  We found one that wasn’t to busy and got a treat.  Dad had a cookies and cream malt that he said was really yummy.  We walked around the town and I took a nap and then we headed home.  Mom and Dad are trying to decide what our next adventure will be!
